The Bright Arrow System which is embedded right in your PowerSchool account, is the most effective way to send email, phone or text messages out to parents based off of your student rosters. You can read more about Bright Arrow magic by clicking this link.
Once you have sent out a message to parents, you can check on the status of your message by using the REPORTS function. This will tell you which messages have been delivered and which may not have gone through due to parent contact information not being current in PowerSchool.
- From your PowerSchool dashboard, click on the My BrightArrow Lists along the left side of the page.
- Select the message to review by clicking the checkbox on the list.
- From the dropdown menu, select REPORTS (see below)
The report list will now give you a complete breakdown of all messages sent to parents including the status of each call…
…as well as a summary of ALL calls.
For messages which are coming back as Unreachable, it may be possible that the Parent Contact information in PowerSchool is no longer up to date. In this case, you might want to reach out to your students, or the front office administration in order to update parent contact information.
Parents can also update their contact information in their PowerSchool Parent Portal by clicking on the BrightArrow link along the left side of the page.
